The Role
The successful Fitter will play a key role in the assembly and preparation of a range of distribution and power transformers, ensuring every product meets exceptional quality standards.
Responsibilities include:
* Interpreting assembly instructions, blueprint specifications and parts lists
* Assembling components and subassemblies with precision
* Maintaining high workmanship standards and supporting OTIF delivery
* Completing all relevant works order documentation
* Reporting issues, shortages, or equipment breakdowns promptly
* Using a range of workshop machinery and hand tools
* Carrying out quality inspections on colleagues work where required
Skills & Experience
* Hands‑on experience in a mechanical or electrical engineering environment
* The ability to read and interpret mechanical and schematic drawings
* A mechanical or electrical qualification (apprenticeship desirable)
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
* Experience in a continuous improvement environment (advantageous)
* Exceptional attention to detail
