We are currently looking for aCost Engineer, to join a leading vehicle manufacturer based in the UK. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate product costing, validating supplier quotations, and driving continuous cost optimisation across new and existing vehicle programmes.
TheCost Engineerwill:
* Prepare should-cost calculations and cost estimates to validate supplier quotations for technology parts and build-to-print components.
* Support cost negotiations in collaboration with the Purchasing team.
* Provide target cost estimates and evaluations throughout new product development.
* Analyse material costs, tooling investments, and assembly costs.
* Set up and maintaining foreign exchange and raw-material commodity indexation matrices.
* Support make-versus-buy assessments, sourcing strategies, and supplier negotiations.
TheCost Engineerwill have:
1. A bachelors degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Automotive, or Manufacturing Engineering.
2. 7+ years experience in cost engineering, product costing, or should-costing.
3. Experience within automotive, motorsport, aerospace, or premium/complex manufacturing.
