Offer description

We operate a bilingual policy. All applicants are invited to apply in Welsh, any application submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application made in English.

We are the Ceredigion County Council and we are looking to appoint a 37‑hour full‑time Dryside Duty Officer at Lampeter Wellbeing Centre.

As the council’s lead service for delivering and developing physical activity opportunities, you will work closely with the management team to ensure that the service maximises its contribution to improving the health and wellbeing of the county’s citizens.

The Wellbeing Centre Service is embarking on an exciting chapter of change and if you have the qualities and desire to play an important part in this journey then we’d welcome your application.

Our ideal candidate will:

* Open and close the buildings, operate the centre on a day‑to‑day basis in the absence of the Team Manager and Co‑ordinator and be responsible for the security of the premises.
* Supervise and direct the Lifeguard / Operation Attendants and other staff at the facility and ensure that the council’s resources are used in the most efficient manner.

* Assist with the delivery of a high‑quality, efficient and effective service to all customers and potential customers.
* Assist with delivery of swimming lessons and other classes as and when required.

Note: We reserve the right to extend the application closing date.

We are committed to safeguarding and protecting children and adults at risk. As part of this commitment, certain roles within our organisation require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to assess the suitability of candidates. This role will require an Enhanced DBS check. Please note that the presence of previous convictions will not necessarily disqualify a candidate from consideration for this position. We assess each applicant on a case‑by‑case basis, and take into account the nature and relevance of any convictions in relation to the responsibilities of the role. Our goal is to create an inclusive and supportive work environment where all individuals are treated fairly and with respect. If you have any concerns or questions regarding this process, please feel free to contact us for clarification.
