Job Description:
A leading Independent IT Infrastructure and Services Consultancy is looking for a Cybersecurity/Network Engineer for a 9-month contract with a major financial services company, based in Milton Keynes, Inside IR35.
The Cybersecurity/Network Engineer will join an existing team providing support across UK networks.
The engineer will require sound knowledge of security principles and skills in security systems deployment and support. General networking and troubleshooting skills are also required.
Role Responsibilities
* Manage and support cybersecurity systems and applications, ensuring 24/7/365 availability across all support levels (1st/2nd/3rd Line).
* Technical project delivery.
* Fault management including in-depth call and incident management.
* Handle escalations, ensuring appropriate technical input for all escalations.
* Maintain, upgrade, and document security infrastructure components.
* Design and implement network and security projects according to standards and business needs.
* Perform security and network audits/vulnerability analyses, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Mentor team members and facilitate skills and knowledge transfer.
Knowledge and skills required:
Essential:
* Core security skills including firewalls (Check Point, Juniper Netscreen/SRX, Palo Alto), Provider-1/NSM, SonicWall, GAIA/SPLAT, IPS (Sourcefire, Firepower, McAfee, Check Point).
* Core network skills including TCP/IP, WAN, LAN, VPN, routing (OSPF, BGP), troubleshooting, and effective communication skills.
Desirable:
* Check Point CCSE & advanced troubleshooting skills.
* DLP, automation, cloud technologies, micro-segmentation.
* CISSP certification.
* Spanish language skills.
Core hours are 8 am - 6 pm on a rota (8-4, 9-5, or 10-6). Onsite in the office 2 days a week (must do 8 days a month). Ad hoc office visits based on workshops/meetings. On call 24/7, 1 week in 6 or as needed for covering sickness/holidays. Out-of-hours work may be required for projects and requests.
