Your Responsibilities
As our Controller, you will:
* Manage and refine the job costing system to ensure precise tracking and allocation of project-related costs, including labor, materials, and overhead.
* Prepare and analyze detailed Work-In-Progress (WIP) schedules to support accurate revenue recognition and provide insights into project profitability.
* Oversee client progress billings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Conduct in-depth analyses of project profitability, comparing actual costs to budgets, and forecasting cost-to-complete to aid decision-making.
* Supervise general ledger activities and ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
* Develop and present comprehensive financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, to summarize the company’s financial position.
* Lead the annual budgeting process and manage regular financial forecasting cycles by collaborating with department leaders.
* Monitor financial performance against forecasts, identify trends and variances, and provide actionable recommendations to senior management.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and prepare necessary reports for governing agencies.
* Manage corporate cash accounts, including reconciling bank statements, forecasting cash flow, and exploring cash investment opportunities.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
* A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
* A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, with a strong background in the construction industry.
* Proficiency in Work-In-Progress (WIP) accounting and reporting.
* Expertise in job costing and financial analysis.
* A strong understanding of construction accounting principles and practices.
* A proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
* Excellent analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills to present financial insights to stakeholders.
