Shift Maintenance Operative
The Maintenance department is looking to recruit a shift maintenance operative working a 4 on 4 off (24/7) shift pattern within the Estates Department.
The role involves undertaking planned and reactive maintenance of essential systems across the Trust's estate. You will need to analyze faults and undertake rectifications to ensure continuity of service.
We seek a highly motivated and professional individual capable of prioritizing workloads, identifying potential improvements to operational systems, and enhancing management processes to increase departmental efficiencies.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team working to maintain statutory compliance across all Trust sites.
Responsibilities include:
1. Obtaining materials and filter media for planned maintenance of air handling units.
2. Checking Trust plant rooms for leaks, operating motors, condition of belts, pressure drops across filters, and general condition of filters.
3. Maintaining cleanliness of glass traps and ensuring drains within plant rooms are free-flowing.
4. Carrying out maintenance on plant, such as changing and aligning belts.
5. Reporting inspection findings to Senior Estates Officers, and communicating any issues or need for specialized inspections.
6. Operating, maintaining, and testing engineering plant and equipment within the Main Boiler House and remote CHP Energy Centre.
7. Monitoring boiler fuel supplies and receiving deliveries of fuel oil and medical gases.
8. Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs, using relevant tools and equipment.
9. Assisting higher skilled staff as required, and performing routine laboring tasks.
10. Supporting ward tasks such as clearing blockages, replacing lamps, refixing minor items, and carrying out minor maintenance within wards/departments and operating theatres.
11. Ensuring the ability to access high or underground areas safely, requiring physical fitness.
This role requires a high degree of agility and physical fitness.
