Overview
My Local Government client is looking for a qualified and experienced Finance Manager to join them on a permanent basis. Working as part of the Childrens and Education team, your role will be to provide technical financial advice, largely around areas including DSG, SEN block and home to school transport. You will also be responsible for managing a team and ensuring that financial awareness is developed through it.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical financial advice on DSG, SEN block and home to school transport.
* Manage a team and develop financial awareness within the team.
* Analyse, interpret and present financial management information to key decision makers.
* Lead a team and establish excellent working relationships with senior colleagues and customers.
* Advise senior members of the Council on financial matters, including setting annual budgets and ensuring short, medium and long term forecasts are robust.
* Identify, analyse and report on the financial implications of new initiatives within your area of responsibility.
* Support the preparation of annual statements at year end.
Qualifications
* CCAB qualified accountant.
* Experience in Local Government finance, including DSG and Schools.
* Ability to analyse, interpret and present financial management information to key decision makers.
* Ability to lead a team and establish excellent working relationships with senior colleagues and customers.

This is a permanent role paying circa £56,000 and is being offered on a hybrid working basis with travel to the office required as agreed throughout the year.
