The Role
A well-established and growing accountancy firm is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join its Audit department.
This is a senior, client-facing role with responsibility for managing a sizeable portfolio of corporate clients, delivering high-quality audit, accounting and compliance services, and playing a key role in people management, client development and business growth.

Key Responsibilities
• Managing a portfolio of corporate clients with annual fees in excess of £200k
• Full accountability for audit, accounting and corporate tax compliance delivery
• Planning, supervising and completing audit assignments
• Reviewing audit files and finalising work for Partner/Associate review
• Managing client budgets, recoverability and billing
• Handling consolidations and other complex accounting matters
• Maintaining effective, proactive client relationships
• Identifying opportunities for additional services
• Representing the firm at networking and business development events
• Active involvement in audit specialisms and working groups
People & Leadership
• Mentoring, supervising and coaching staff
• Delegating work effectively and reviewing junior output
• Supporting recruitment and onboarding
• Leading training, development, appraisals and quarterly reviews
• Managing workload, holidays, sickness and day-to-day performance
• Encouraging a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
• Maintaining strong communication and team engagement
Ideal Background
• Strong UK practice experience
• Proven experience managing a corporate client portfolio
• Audit and accounting background with exposure to complex areas
• Confident people manager and mentor
• Commercially aware and client-focused
• Well-organised with strong time management skills
• Comfortable working under pressure and managing competing priorities
