Test Technician
Location: Peterborough
Pay Rate: £26.82 Umbrella per hour
Contract Length: 12-Month Rolling Contract
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Fully onsite, Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:30
Key Responsibilities
* Support engineers with prototype builds, testing, and data collection.
* Carry out mechanical and electrical assembly, measurement, and inspection activities.
* Perform electrical safety checks and diagnostics using test and calibration tools.
* Operate test bed software and interpret test plans and results.
* Identify and report product or build issues, supporting continuous improvement.
* Work with logistics and suppliers to source and manage components.
* Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Required Qualifications & Skills
* Completed Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship (or equivalent HNC/HND).
* Strong hands-on experience in engine, powertrain, or system testing.
* Knowledge of test bed operation, diagnostics, and data logging.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
* Full UK driving licence and valid passport (for occasional travel).
Desirable Experience
* Experience with electric or hybrid systems and high-voltage components.
* Knowledge of wiring, hydraulics, and fabrication.
* Understanding of New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
