Job Description:
We are currently looking for enthusiastic team members to join our multi-disciplinary team as a Band 5, working up to 37.5 hours per week, with Anaesthetic or Scrub skills for 12 months.
St. Michael’s Hospital has 5 theatres and an 8-bed recovery area, with specialties including Obstetrics, ENT, Upper G.I, Oral Surgery, and Gynaecology.
The role involves working various shifts, including nights and weekends. Skills or knowledge in all theatre areas are preferred, but training will be provided. Eagerness to learn, flexibility, and teamwork are essential. Newly qualified practitioners are welcome to apply.
Responsibilities include:
1. Develop measurable patient care plans/goals in partnership with other professionals, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation from admission to transfer or discharge.
2. Manage the clinical needs of a group of patients, prioritizing workload according to clinical needs over a 24-hour period.
3. Occasionally take charge of the ward/department, prioritizing workload accordingly.
4. Delegate tasks to team members related to patient care.
5. Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation per Trust standards.
6. Demonstrate awareness of and compliance with Trust policies, promoting this among colleagues.
7. Ensure a safe environment for patients.
8. Administer medicines following Trust policy.
9. Promote cleanliness and prevent hospital-acquired infections.
10. Respond promptly to patient and carer issues, utilizing complaints procedures and PALs when appropriate.
