About The Business Unit

Mott MacDonald's Advisory and Programme Delivery (APD) unit delivers both project, programme & commercial management (PPCM) services and advisory solutions across the built environment, defence, energy, water, environmental, transportation, health and care sectors.

We deliver tailored solutions that directly address our clients' key challenges, combining our world-leading project expertise with unrivalled programme delivery capabilities and advisory services. APD delivers services to projects ranging in scale and complexity up to £20bn, through the technical disciplines of programme management, project management, project controls, scheduling, cost management, estimating, infrastructure finance, management consulting, digital consulting and education, health and care management.

Overview Of The Role

As Commercial Manager you will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple projects and workstreams on major aviation projects.

Within our Advisory & Programme Delivery (APD) we deliver advisory, project, programme and commercial management services to customers. We operate in Highways, Rail, Aviation and Maritime. Our vision is to deliver major transportation projects as part of a global business and to establish our wide-ranging consultancy as 'credible' and 'preferred' for our existing and new clients.

Key Responsibilities And Duties Include

Responsible for commercially managing a project or multiple projects, including:
Support and advise the project manager in respect of fulfilment of all contractual obligations
Driving and delivering tender process
Input into the development and delivery of procurement strategies o Post contract management of NEC and bespoke contracts
Monitor and process on behalf of the client commercial queries from consultants and contractors
Reporting of budgets / tracking costs and ensuring financial accuracy
Working closely with Project teams
CEMAR administration
Mentoring of junior members of team
Candidate specification

Essential

Relevant degree or relevant extensive experience in experience of delivering within a Cost Consultancy/Main Contractor
Full Membership of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) (or working towards)
Previous experience of administrating a wide range of contracts, particularly NEC contracts and experience in using CEMAR (Contract Event Management and Reporting) or similar
Contract and procurement advice, cost analysis, due diligence, cost control, cost reporting activities and post contract management on projects, programmes and D & B contracts
Ability to operate both autonomously and as a part of a larger team
Excellent IT Skills – Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Office365
Strong communication skills including writing reports and presenting
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with clients, stakeholders, colleagues and the supply chain
Ability to demonstrate a flexible approach to work
Willing to travel to client site 2 or 3 days per week

Relevant experience working on transportation projects
