Responsibilities
The business is currently recruiting for a Multi-skilled Shift Engineer working 12-hour shifts of 2 days / 2 nights and 4 days off.
* Work safely and provide a safe environment to work in
* Follow Health and Safety guidance, best practices, and engineering excellence standards
* Maintain high quality standards of workmanship
* Be part of a 24/7 multi-disciplinary engineering support team covering production and site infrastructure
* Provide a "customer" experience to the operations department
* Support breakdown repairs on high-speed production lines covering electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and PLC faults
* Improve engineering-related KPIs such as PPM adherence, OEE, MTBF, MTTR, budget adherence, and energy usage through continuous improvement and proactive approaches
* Interact with site CMMS, including booking spares
* Ensure all relevant paperwork and systems are maintained and controlled
* Identify and assist with improvement projects as required
* Assist and liaise with contractors or suppliers as needed
* Assist with PPMs as required
* Share skills and experience with peers via records and effective handovers
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience as an apprentice-trained multi-skilled engineer with experience of high-speed production lines covering:
PLC / Servo drives, Hydraulics / Pneumatics, Heat control systems, Weight control systems, Analogue control systems, Inverter drives, Safety systems.
Hold relevant qualifications in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering.
Educated to at least GCSE level C.
Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
Computer literate.
Ability to understand engineering drawings.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated with a flexible, can-do attitude.
Team player capable of working in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
Friendly, approachable, and able to work under pressure.
