Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne
Hours: 9 hours per week school holidays only (weekends may be required on occasion)
Pay: £14.00 per hour
A driver is preferred but it is essential you can navigate the local transport systems.
About the Role
The role is to support a young lady to access and engage in activities within her local community.
Key Responsibilities
* Daily Living Support
o Assistance with social activities and accessing the community.
o Assistance to engage with activities I enjoy at home and outdoors.
o Places I enjoy include shopping outlets, the gym and cinemas.
* Mobility & Transport
o Ensure my safety boarding on and off public transport.
o Full, clean UK driving licence is essential if you are a driver.
Who You Are
* Physically fit – able to safely lift and handle and keep me safe.
* Able to follow instructions carefully and work with sensitivity.
* Respectful of boundaries, cultural practices & values and personal space.
* You must have experience working with children with Disabilities.
* Bubbly, happy, and outgoing.
* Naturally upbeat, positive, and compassionate.
* Good at taking the initiative but also comfortable being guided from my parents or myself.
* Responsible with strong attention to detail and vigilant always.
* Non-smoker – due to allergens.
About Me
I am a 15-year-old young girl with developmental delay and I am partially sighted which is corrected with specialist eye wear.
I’m looking for an experienced personal assistant to support me access the local community and enjoy activities of my own choice. I enjoy going to the cinema, coffee dates, shopping and attending my local gym. You would support me to engage in these activities and always ensure my safety. I reside with my mum, dad and siblings and we have an active household.
