Find out more about the benefits of working for the University of Birmingham Background The Student Experience Team oversees the planning and implementation of Welcome Week for CMH. We aim to work with and collaborate with students and staff to provide the best support we can for our new starters and one of the main pieces of feedback is more engagement with current students. Therefore, we would like to bring student ambassadors on board to provide their own experiences in this role. Role Summary Represent College of Medicine and Health at Welcome Weekend (20 th & 21 st September 2025) Provide peer-to-peer support and share personal experiences with prospective and new students. Assist with organising and running the event. Collaborate with university departments, student organisations, and staff to promote programs and services. Serve as a role model for current and prospective students, maintaining a positive and professional demeanor at all times. Ability to work during Welcome Weekend (either Saturday or Sunday) Main Duties Represent the College of Medicine and Health at various events, including: Welcome Weekends Provide peer-to-peer support and share personal experiences with new students Assist with organising and delivering: Welcome Weekend activities Collaboration: University departments Student organisations Staff and other stakeholders Promote college programs and student support services Serve as a positive role model for current and prospective students Maintain a professional, friendly, and welcoming presence at all times Person Specification Excellent verbal and written communication skills Friendly, approachable, and supportive demeanor Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Reliable and well-organised; able to manage time and meet deadlines Maintains a professional and positive attitude at all times Committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion Proactive and enthusiastic about student engagement A student of the College of Medicine and Health For any informal queries, please contact Martin Nguyen (CMH-studentexperience@contacts.bham.ac.uk ) View our staff values and behaviours here Valuing excellence, sustaining investment We value diversity and inclusion at the University of Birmingham and welcome applications from all sections of the community and are open to discussions around all forms of flexible working.
