Description
Your new role
We are seeking a dedicated Lead Technician to join our team at Edge Hill in Liverpool. The role involves servicing, fault finding, and repairing complex Hitachi Rail rolling stock assets. Experience with the class AT300 fleet is highly advantageous.
This is a permanent position working on a rotating day and night shift basis, with a salary of £47,913 + 15% shift allowance.
Responsibilities include:
* Maintaining the work site, materials, and equipment
* Adhering to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
* Performing planned and unplanned maintenance
* Ensuring compliance of traction and rolling stock assets with operational specifications
* Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
* Removing, replacing, modifying, and assembling traction and rolling stock components
* Identifying and rectifying defects and discrepancies
* Supporting reliability improvements and providing technical support during failures
* Maintaining accurate records in SAP
* Developing professionally and liaising with internal and external personnel
Required Skills/Knowledge
* Experience in a similar role, with high voltage electrics knowledge
* Valid UK Driving Licence
* Residence within an hour’s travel of Neville Hill depot
* Knowledge of rail rules and regulations
* Good communication and IT skills
* Mechanical or electrical apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3

Preferred Skills (not essential)
* Experience in the rail sector
* Network Rail Sentinel PTS certification
* Stock-specific maintenance experience
* Designated Person qualification or equivalent
* Working at Height and Manual Handling certifications
