An exciting opportunity for a Fleet & Compliance Manager has arisen. This role will appeal to individuals with drive, determination, and enthusiasm. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational delivery of a best-in-class Fleet Management service, with a focus on colleague safety, operational improvement, and customer relations. The role involves a demonstrable track record of driving value and delivering results. This position is based on an Open Book contract at a customer site, with a high level of customer focus and scrutiny.
How will you contribute?
* Plan and ensure all legally required inspections (MOT, Tacho, LOLER, RFL, etc.) are scheduled in advance, with documents properly returned, filed, and recorded.
* Maintain the Service planner and ensure vehicles are presented for Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMI) and safety inspections.
* Manage the tyre maintenance contract.
* Oversee relationships with hire companies and servicing agents.
* Manage fuel purchasing and reporting processes.
* Ensure compliance with drivers' hours and Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations, including monitoring average hours over the reference period.
* Keep the Planned Fleet Maintenance Boards up to date.
* Coordinate PMI and annual inspections around peak trading periods.
* Conduct monthly compliance audits on paperwork and fleet operations.
* Manage defect reporting promptly and carry out quality checks.
* Monitor alerts from DVSA regarding licenses, ensuring all drivers complete online checks and license mandates.
* Oversee DCPC training and manage driver EU hours, infringements, and training requirements.
* Input details correctly into FTA Vision system.
* Plan and administer fleet management activities.
* Ensure robust accident investigations with appropriately trained investigators.
* Manage rebate processes for Drivers Negligence claims through driving agencies.
* Handle insurance claims related to non-blameworthy accidents.
* Support the Transport Operations Manager in maintaining a good repute for the Operator's Licence.
* Collaborate with the H&S team to ensure compliance in all areas.
* Lead annual H&S and compliance audits, ensuring operations remain compliant.
* This role is based on-site at Islip and/or Thrapston; remote working is not supported.
* Implement controls for fleet onboarding and disposal, including dilapidation and excess mileage cost management.
* Manage VOR (Vehicle Off Road) to maximize fleet availability.
* Oversee workshop and supplier performance to optimize fleet count and parts supply.
* Liaise with manufacturers to manage vehicle safety recalls, service measures, warranty, and warranty goodwill claims.
* Analyze maintenance spend to ensure cost controls and drive profitability.
* Identify maintenance trends and implement preventative measures to enhance safety and reduce costs.
