Surrey Adult Learning (SAL) is seeking an enthusiastic and well organised individual to plan and deliver high‑quality learning for adults in Digital Skills and Vocational, acting as an expert practitioner in the delivery of accredited programmes. The role will initially lead responsibility for our Career Building Block courses (Preparing to Work in Schools and Preparing to Work in Health and Social Care), as well as duties within Digital Skills and a teaching timetable.
Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver and lead high‑quality learning for adults in Digital Skills and Vocational.
* Mentor and support tutors through observations, feedback and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
* Promote good practice and act as a critical friend within the curriculum areas.
* Support programme planning, quality improvement and develop structured teaching programmes aligned to subject requirements and learner needs.
* Ensure all quality documentation is completed and maintained in line with internal processes and awarding body requirements.
* Provide guidance to tutors on planning, delivery, resource development, risk assessment and course evaluation.
* Contribute to the development of curriculum materials and resources.
* Build effective professional relationships and provide constructive feedback.
* Actively safeguard and promote the welfare of adult learners.
Qualifications
* A recognised teaching qualification and substantial experience teaching Digital Skills and Vocational to adults.
* Proven experience in formal observations of teaching and learning aligned with the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework.
* Demonstrated success working within an Ofsted‑regulated environment to maintain and enhance teaching quality.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong IT proficiency.
* Experience in marking and internal verification (IV) of vocational qualifications, ensuring compliance with awarding body standards and supporting learner achievement.
* DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check required.

Salary
Starting salary: £22,123 per annum for 21.6 hours per week. Full‑time equivalent salary: £36,873 per annum.
