What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a Principal Project Engineer to join our project engineering and operations team. The role involves supporting the multi-discipline delivery of major energy development studies, typically at conceptual or pre-FEED project stages.
The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking, experienced consultant who can provide value-added study management expertise during the early stages of energy development projects. The role involves leading multi-disciplinary early-phase studies for offshore projects in the UK and globally.
About Our Organization
Genesis operates within core service lines: Early Advisory Solutions, Development Solutions, and Asset Lifecycle Solutions, serving key markets such as Low Carbon, CO2 Management & Renewables, and Upstream & Downstream Oil & Gas. Our UK Operating Centre, with offices in Aberdeen and London, is organized into nine core delivery teams, supporting the Project and Discipline Engineering Delivery Team, which includes over 50 engineers, project engineers, and study managers across six core groups.
Scope of Services
The services require facilities project engineering and management expertise, with experience in both brownfield and greenfield modifications, covering a wide range of scopes. Responsibilities include:
* Leading and contributing to front-end multi-discipline engineering studies, including coordination of engineering inputs, cost estimation, and project scheduling;
* Managing interfaces within and between disciplines, and with client teams;
* Overseeing the execution of work to ensure quality and content standards;
* Preparing study reports and presentations;
* Leading project meetings and managing study performance;
* Participating in design reviews, HAZID/HAZOP sessions, and technical assessments;
* Developing cost-effective technical solutions aligned with industry best practices;
* Contributing to project pre-FEED work breakdown, risk, and opportunity management;
* Collaborating closely with client project management to address their interests.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
* Previous experience in a similar role;
* Project/study management experience in the oil and gas or energy transition sectors;
* Strong HSSE leadership, risk management skills, and process safety awareness;
* Knowledge of project planning, progress monitoring, and forecasting;
* Experience with new energies or energy transition projects is advantageous;
* The ability to drive and support decision-making processes.
