About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team in Burnley as a Fishing Therapy Teacher. No formal teaching qualifications (QTS) are required. We are seeking someone with a strong passion for fishing, excellent interpersonal skills, and a genuine desire to support others. This is an ideal role for an experienced angler, a youth worker, or someone from a social care background who understands the therapeutic benefits of the outdoors.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead small groups in therapeutic angling sessions.
Teach fishing techniques in a patient and encouraging manner.
Act as a mentor, guiding participants in a non-judgmental environment.
Promote well-being through angling, helping to reduce stress and anxiety.
Ensure the safety of all participants and adhere to safeguarding policies.
Work with our team to track progress and celebrate achievements.
What We're Looking For:
Extensive personal experience in angling.
An understanding of the principles of social prescribing or therapeutic activities.
Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
A relevant first-aid certificate is a bonus.
