Purpose: To provide strategic and operational leadership to AHEAD International, ensuring effective delivery of programmes, regulatory compliance, and organisational sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide overall strategic leadership and direction in line with AHEAD International’s charitable objectives.
Oversee organisational operations in the UK and international programmes, including Sierra Leone.
Lead and manage senior staff, ensuring effective performance management and staff development.
Ensure compliance with UK charity law, safeguarding standards, and Home Office sponsor duties.
Oversee financial sustainability, budgets, and reporting to the Board of Trustees.
Represent AHEAD International to funders, regulators, partners, and external stakeholders.
Lead organisational risk management and governance processes.
Person Specification – Essential Qualifications and Experience
Postgraduate qualification or equivalent senior‑level experience in Charity Management, International Development, Public Health, Social Policy, or a related field.
Minimum 7 years’ senior leadership experience within the charity, public, or voluntary sector, including strategic planning and organisational leadership.
Proven experience of managing multi‑country or international programmes, including oversight of staff and operations.
Demonstrable experience of financial oversight, budgeting, and working with Boards of Trustees.
Experience of partnership development and stakeholder engagement at senior level.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong understanding of UK charity law, governance, safeguarding, and compliance requirements.
Eligibility to work in the UK and meet Home Office requirements for sponsored skilled roles.
