Howard Tenens are currently recruiting for a Contract Manager to oversee the Customer Account Plan ensuring the customer relationship enjoys mutual value to include, excellence in customer service, cost to serve, profitability, H&S, continuous improvement and wallet growth. The Contract Manager will be responsible for managing larger accounts and will build and grow the customer relationships, ensuring that the customer and HTL have meaningful contact points throughout the structures, to include, day to day operational contacts, IT, Finance and SLT. The Contract Manager will ideally be based in Swindon or the East Midlands. Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to): To ensure the business retain and grow existing customer accounts with commercials that enable the business to achieve and surpass its budgeted profit target. This will include engaging with site leadership teams to review customer and supplier commercial arrangements, in addition to operational support and productivity analysis. Manage and maintain an account plan for all customers. This will include the customers strategy, HTL’s value in supporting the strategy, relationship mapping and contract and rate renewals. Lead negotiations with customers to establish favourable terms and conditions that align with the company's strategic objectives. Negotiate pricing, service levels, performance metrics, and other contract terms to achieve cost savings and service enhancements. Oversee the entire contract lifecycle. Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with logistics contracts. Analyse logistics costs, pricing structures, and budget allocations to identify opportunities for cost reduction and optimisation. Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality and service levels. Engagement with site leadership and internal stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement measures are in place to drive the operational effectiveness of the contract and ensure contract adherence. Engagement with site leadership to ensure contractual KPIs are achieved and surpassed. Keep the customer appraised of all products and benefits that HT can offer and optimise revenue opportunities by offering our full range of services to customers and their wider parent company. Where appropriate and responsible for people, manage all aspects of people management processes in line with company policy, including recruitment, annual reviews, discipline and grievance, absence, and performance management. Skills, Qualifications and Experience: Ability to demonstrate Commercial Awareness with customers and suppliers. Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPM, CSCP) is desirable. Proven experience 5 years in contract management, procurement, or logistics operations within the transportation, warehousing, or distribution industry. Experience and knowledge of distribution, warehouse operations and supply chain management concepts, including transportation modes, inventory management, and distribution networks. Strong understanding of contract law, negotiations, and contract administration principles. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex contractual documents and financial data. Proficiency in contract management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Effective communication and interpersonal skill, with a clear and supportive management style. Has a passion for service and a strong customer focus. Capable of managing multiple priorities and demands working under pressure to critical deadlines and objectives.
