The post is for an estimated 9 month contract and is paying competitively on a daily basis. Successful applicants will be required to be Security Cleared prior to appointment and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain UK Security Clearance. An IR35 assessment for tax purposes is required for this engagement. In order to determine the Limited Company’s correct IR35 status, an individual Limited Company assessment will be required. Job Role Our client is seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Manager – Electronic Security Systems to join a major Defence project in Berkshire. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the UK’s most complex and high-profile infrastructure projects. You will play a key role in the commissioning and demonstration of specialist equipment, building services, and control systems essential to the facility’s operation. Key Responsibilities Provide expert advice on safety requirements for commissioning activities. Manage and oversee the delivery of commissioning work packages. Support the deployment of the overall project commissioning strategy. Coordinate the production, review, and approval of test documentation. Plan and manage commissioning tests with suppliers. Integrate test requirements into the overall project programme. Assist in developing a detailed construction schedule to support phased commissioning. Monitor and report on the status of commissioning prerequisites and activities. Produce Learning from Experience (LfE) reports and presentations. Lead stakeholder engagement for commissioning activities. Chair reviews with stakeholders, including design, change, and procedure reviews. Manage changes to commissioning schedules, resources, and forecasts. Requirements Extensive experience commissioning large facilities and managing commissioning teams, particularly within electronic security systems. Deep understanding of enterprise security systems such as card access control, intruder detection, CCTV, and perimeter intrusion detection systems. Experience in both the delivery and design of electronic security systems. Proven track record in complex project delivery, ideally in defence or similarly technical sectors. Strong knowledge of commissioning methodologies.
