About NBC
National Buying Consortium (NBC), formed March 2019, is based in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. NBC is a buying group for independent wholesale companies. NBC negotiates better terms and pricing from suppliers such as Mars, Coca-Cola, Red Bull and Pepsico, sharing the benefits across its members.
Our members service a wide range of outlets, including Foodservice and Retail, supplying both food and beverages. NBC operates a Central Distribution facility, NDN, which bulk purchases products and distributes them to the members. This position focuses on NDN and reports to the Consortium Distribution Manager.
Role Description
This is a full‑time role, Monday‑Friday 9am‑5pm, based at the NBC Head Office in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire.
Responsibilities
* Place member orders and supplier purchase orders
* Liaise with members on queries and delivery issues
* Maintain and manage the orders inbox
* Validate member orders against supplier invoices and PODs, make amendments and dispatch goods
* Develop strong relationships with members and suppliers
* Liaise with Warehouse to fulfill members' orders, including receipting PO’s and creating pick lists enabling the warehouse team to pick and distribute members' orders
* Cover other office duties (holiday/sickness and as needed)
Skill Requirements
* Microsoft Office skills (essential)
* Great interpersonal skills to communicate with our Members and Suppliers (essential)
* Ability to work efficiently within a busy, fast‑paced office environment (essential)
* Good external communication skills, telephone, email, etc. (essential)
* Driving licence (due to location)
* Knowledge of Xero (desirable, not essential; training will be given)
* Experience with Unleashed Packaged (desirable, not essential)
