The Role
* To investigate, negotiate, and resolve marine claims in accordance with policy terms and conditions, best practices, and service standards.
* To maintain accurate and timely records of claims data, correspondence, and financial transactions in the claims system.
* To communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders, such as clients, brokers, underwriters, surveyors, lawyers, and regulators.
* To monitor and manage claims reserves, payments, and recoveries, ensuring compliance with internal and external guidelines and regulations.
* To identify and report on trends, issues, and opportunities related to marine claims, and propose solutions and recommendations.
* To participate in claims audits, reviews, and training, and provide feedback and support to colleagues and managers.
* To keep abreast of market developments, legal updates, and industry best practices in marine claims.
* To perform any other duties as assigned by the Marine Claims Manager or senior management.
About You
* Experience in handling marine claims, preferably with an insurance company, Lloyds Syndicate or a Lloyds broker.
* A relevant professional qualification, such as CII, ACII, or AMIM, or working towards one.
* A sound knowledge of marine insurance products, policies, and markets.
* A strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with attention to detail and accuracy.
* An excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse stakeholders.
* A self-motivated and proactive attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to cope with changing priorities and deadlines.
* A proficient in using MS Office applications and claims systems.
