Overview
Are you a seasoned Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in the water and wastewater sector? Due to continued success building on our existing framework agreements and a confident growth plan in AMP 8 and AMP 9, across all 10 major water and wastewater companies in England and Wales, we’re seeking a confident, innovative professional to lead the design and delivery of complex infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities
* Lead the mechanical design and specification of water and wastewater treatment systems, pumping stations, and associated infrastructure
* Oversee project delivery from concept through to detailed design and construction support
* Develop detailed specifications for survey requirements, equipment, systems and interfaces between disciplines, ensuring they meet client requirements and industry standards
* Producing mechanical designs using project specifications, standard requirements, outline scopes of work, and/or site investigations
* Innovate, challenge, and consider continuous improvement across projects and designs
* Support addressing challenges across our teams, bringing your unique experience to assist in defining solutions
* Assisting less technical team members with the specification of technical plant and machinery
* Liaison with project managers and commercial teams
* Attending site, both during and after projects
* Producing and carrying out technical presentations during client visits and meetings
We offer a hybrid model of 3 days in the office and 2 days at home. Roles are available in our Bath (Head Office), Newport, Poole or Maidstone offices and will relate to the clients those offices support.
This is based on a 42.5-hour contract, Monday to Friday.

Requirements
* 5+ years of experience working in a senior mechanical design role
* Relevant engineering qualification such as a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, HNC, or HND
* Experience in:
o Mechanical systems design
o Site general arrangement design, 2D and/or 3D
o Design project coordination, leading and supporting teams
o Chemical dosing
o Water quality monitoring
* Autodesk 3D CAD packages
* Using Microsoft packages
* Specific water industry-based design experience
