Pharmacy Store Assistant - Antrim A great opportunity has arisen for a Pharmacy Store Assistant (Band 2) to join a team in Antrim. Working under the supervision of Senior Assistants, Technicians, and Pharmacists, this role supports the efficient and accurate supply of drugs, medical items, and surgical supplies to meet the needs of patients and clinical staff. About the role:
1. £12.71 per hour
2. Part time: 15 hours per week across 2 days (Mon and Fri - 8.45am-5pm)
3. Antrim Area Hospital / Hollywell Hospital
4. Immediate start date for 6 months initially
What you'll be doing in this role:
5. To receive deliveries from suppliers ensuring their prompt receipt and shelving in correct pharmacy location, to a high level of accuracy using the pharmacy computer system.
6. To maintain delivery paperwork and associated computer records for Pharmacy Stores items, to ensure that discrepancies are resolved effectively, and that there is prompt retrieval / filing of paperwork, liaising with Senior Pharmacy Assistant Stores Supervisor /procurement / clerical staff as applicable.
7. To assist in the process of supplier returns, including uplifts, credits and replacement of stock for Pharmacy Stores items.
8. To participate in the issue and assembly of pharmaceutical stock in response to Daily Ward Orders, Off-site Requisitions, Bulk Issue Picking Lists and ‘To Follows’ in a timely manner in line with departmental SOPs and taking account of transport schedules.
9. To participate in the dispensing and distribution service to the wards for Bulk IV fluids and Procedure Packs.
What you'll need for this role:
10. A minimum of one year’s experience as a warehouse / stores assistant. OR,
11. 5 GCSEs (Grades A – G) or equivalent. To include English Language and Mathematics Grade C or above.
12. Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
13. Be able to undertake manual handling tasks such as lifting, unpacking deliveries and handling ward stock boxes on a daily basis, utilising specialist equipment, e.g. pallet truck, electric truck etc. as appropriate.
14. To have basic. knowledge and experience of IT systems such as Microsoft Word and email.
15. General good health for the demands of the post.
16. Acceptable attendance record.
