How you'll make a difference: As a Finance Officer, you will support the delivery of a range of quality and cost-effective financial management services, supporting the income side transaction team. What you will be doing:
1. As a key point of contact for Transport and Project Managers, support them with financial administration tasks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
2. Provide financial advice and support to the Senior Accountant and relevant budget holders, utilizing accounting systems, spreadsheets, and software tools.
3. Be the main contact for budget holders, preparing quarterly budget monitoring reports and contributing to the development of revenue and capital budgets.
4. Ensure prompt follow-up on requests for information from budget holders.
5. Coordinate recharges to projects to support monthly monitoring.
6. Develop and prioritize work independently to meet key deadlines.
7. Assist in preparing grant claims and quarterly monitoring reports to meet financial reporting requirements.
8. Qualifications: Hold or be working towards an Association of Accounting Technicians qualification or have equivalent relevant experience.
9. Experience: Knowledge of working in an organization delivering financial management and support services, including financial and budget information preparation.
10. Skills: Strong numeracy and literacy, report writing, presentation, and IT skills.
11. Problem-solving: Demonstrate clear and logical thinking in assessing challenges.
12. Desirable: Knowledge of Microsoft D365.
