Architect / senior architect

Overview

An established, design-led architectural practice is seeking an Architect or Senior Architect to join its growing Manchester studio. This is an opportunity to take a leading role on an exciting new-build project at the early stages of design development.

The project is a circa £20m scheme comprising a mix of classrooms, education spaces and some workplace. Currently at RIBA Stage 3, the successful candidate will take ownership of the project, helping to drive the design forward and coordinate the team through this key phase, with the potential to continue into delivery stages.

This role would suit an architect who enjoys taking responsibility for projects from an early stage, thrives on collaboration, and is confident leading multidisciplinary teams through design development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the design development of a new-build training and education facility from RIBA Stage 3 onwards.
• Take ownership of the project, coordinating information and driving progress across the design team.
• Work closely with the Studio Director and wider project team to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Produce and oversee high-quality design and technical information in Revit.
• Coordinate consultants and client requirements throughout the design process.
• Attend project meetings and contribute to design and technical decision-making.
• Mentor and support junior team members as required.

Skills & Experience

• Qualified Architect with demonstrable experience delivering complex projects within the education, commercial, industrial, or mixed-use sectors.
• Experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong Revit proficiency.
• Ability to quickly immerse yourself in a project and take ownership of its progression.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Previous experience working on projects from early design stages is highly desirable.
• Technical delivery experience is beneficial but not essential.
