Your new role
As a Temporary School Caretaker, you will play a key role in maintaining the school’s facilities to a high standard. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Opening and securing the school premises
2. Carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance
3. Ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the school grounds
4. Supporting with setting up rooms for school events or activities
5. Monitoring heating, lighting, and alarm systems
6. Liaising with contractors and reporting any major issues
This is a hands-on role that requires flexibility, reliability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate would have:
7. Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, or facilities role (preferably in a school or similar setting)
8. A good understanding of health and safety practices
9. Basic DIY skills and the ability to carry out minor repairs
10. Strongmunication and organisational skills
11. A positive attitude and the ability to work independently
This job is a temporary position. We will need to be able to obtain references to cover the last 2 years as a minimum, and you will need to be willing to undergo a DBS check if you don't already have a DBS on the update service.
