We are seeking an experienced Mechanical "Black Hat" Site Supervisor/ Foreman to join a high-profile data centre project in Newport. This role involves managing a specific section of the build inside the facility, overseeing mechanical installations, and coordinating subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and coordinate all mechanical installations within your allocated section
* Supervise subcontractors and ensure works are carried out to specification and on programme
* Ensure health & safety compliance across the section, including conducting toolbox talks and risk assessments
* Liaise with site management, engineering, and commissioning teams to resolve issues quickly
* Monitor progress, report updates, and maintain quality standards
* Manage day-to-day site activities, ensuring smooth operations within your area
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager / Black Hat Supervisor
* Ideally from a mechanical or building services background
* Previous experience on data centre, industrial, or large-scale MEP-heavy projects preferred
* Strong knowledge of HVAC, chilled water, and mechanical systems
* Excellent organisational and leadership skills
* Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
* Relevant safety qualifications (e.g. SSSTS, SMSTS, or equivalent)
