Location: Southeast Wales (Cardiff, Newport, Bridgend area)
Salary: £55,500 - £65,000 (DOE) + Benefits + Flexible Working + Healthcare (after 12 months) + Company Vehicle
About the Company
Our client is a fast-growing renewable energy engineering business providing technical and operational services for large-scale solar projects across the UK. They're a dynamic, sustainability-focused team delivering high-quality solar testing, inspection, and optimisation solutions.
The Role
We're looking for a motivated Head of Field Services to lead and grow a field operations team responsible for delivering solar testing and inspection services. This management role covers the full project cycle - from planning and resourcing to client delivery, reporting, and invoicing.
The position is mainly home-based, with occasional travel to sites across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Field Services team to deliver high-quality solar inspection and testing projects.
* Oversee project scheduling, resource planning, and safety compliance.
* Manage client communications and ensure service excellence.
* Maintain testing equipment and ensure operational readiness.
* Support business growth through technical input and proposal support.
* Mentor and develop team members.
Requirements
* Experience leading field-based technical or electrical teams (solar experience an advantage).
* Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
* Confident managing projects from start to finish.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
* Health & safety focused and hands-on approach.
* Comfortable with occasional night or outdoor work.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, Word).
Desirable
* Electrical qualifications (C&G Inspection & Testing, 18th Edition, or APHV).
* SMSTS or IOSH certification, CSCS card.
* Experience with solar PV testing, thermography, or drones.
