Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of a housing association for an experienced Mental Health Support Worker to provide 1:1 support for a client currently experiencing an acute mental health crisis. The client has a clear preference for female support, and the successful candidate will have a solid background in mental health support, particularly in crisis management. This is a vital role to offer compassionate, calming, and consistent support to the client during this challenging period.
Responsibilities
* Provide calm, compassionate, and consistent 1:1 support for a client with acute mental health needs.
* Manage risk and escalate concerns appropriately to ensure the client\'s safety and well-being.
* Work independently, following support plans and safeguarding procedures.
* Provide life skills activities to support the client\'s recovery and coping strategies.
* Administer medication (PRN) when required, following relevant training and guidelines.
* Maintain accurate records of support provided, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to safeguarding protocols.
Role Requirements
* Strong background in mental health support, including experience in crisis work.
* Female candidates only, in line with the client\'s preference for female support.
* Ability to work independently while following support plans and safeguarding procedures.
* Experience in managing risk and escalating concerns when necessary.
* Trained to issue medication (PRN) as required.
* Experience in delivering life skills activities to aid recovery and promote independence.
* Compassionate, empathetic, and skilled in building rapport with individuals in distress.
The shifts for this role run Monday to Sunday from 12:00pm - 8:00pm. These shifts will be split between 2 support workers.
