The CEO s Office and Governance team sits at the heart of Citizens Advice, connecting strategy, leadership, and delivery. We are trusted advisors to the Chief Executive, Executive Committee, Board of Trustees, and wider leadership teams. We ensure key decisions are made by the right people at the right time, while maintaining the highest standards of regulatory and governance compliance. We re looking for a Governance Manager and Company Secretary who can combine strategic insight with operational excellence. You ll bring a sharp eye for good governance, the ability to connect across a complex organisation, and the confidence to influence at the highest levels. In this role, you will: Provide expert governance support to the CEO, Board of Trustees and its committees. Ensure Citizens Advice complies with all regulatory and corporate governance obligations as a registered charity. Lead and develop governance processes that support effective decision-making across the organisation. Build strong, trusted relationships with senior leaders and trustees, enabling you to influence, advise and drive progress. What we re looking for: Proven experience in governance and company secretarial roles, ideally within the charity or not-for-profit sector. Exceptional communication, relationship-building and influencing skills especially in senior and executive settings. A strategic thinker with the ability to get things done and unblock delivery challenges. A calm, confident, and diplomatic approach, even in high-pressure environments. Qualied company secretary (or equivalent governance qualication) or other relevant practical experience of being a company secretary, preferably in a charity or charitable company. Proven success in a senior role in Governance, PMO or business administration, with experience working with, influencing, and coaching varying stakeholder groups teams to achieve significant change. Experience building strong networks with internal and external stakeholders at all levels; able to influence, coach and build trusted relationships at pace. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with a wide range of teams and individuals, promote an inclusive working culture, establish credibility and work collaboratively, with the ability to adapt to different working patterns and styles.
