Post Title: Youth Development Fixtures Officer Contract Type: Permanent Workplace: EFL House, Preston Reporting to: Head of Youth Development Working Pattern: M-F, 35 hours “The EFL is about two things – great football competitions and supporting communities 365 days a year”. The EFL is looking for an organised Youth Development Fixtures Officer to work within our Football Operations Team. The role will will organise and co-ordinate the day-to-day management of the EFL Youth Alliance and all youth football competitions as required. JOB PURPOSE The Youth Development Fixtures Officer will organise and co-ordinate the day-to-day management of the EFL Youth Alliance and all youth football competitions as required. Reporting into the Head of Youth Development, the Youth Development Fixtures Officer will need to be the direct contact with Clubs and teams involved in each tournament including for Youth Alliance, Central League and First Team competitions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ADMINISTRATION Day-to-day administration of EFL Youth Alliance Competition (league and cup) and Under 16/17 League Programme Be the first contact and knowledge base for any queries relating to EFL related youth competitions Administration of the 9-15 Schoolboy Sunday fixtures Administration and Organisation of Under 9 – Under 12 EFL Futsal Competition (including sourcing and hiring of venues) Ensure all tournament formats and reporting are kept to a high standard Assist, where necessary, with EFL Exit Trials in liaison with the Youth Development Department To attend either in person and/or on Teams monthly Games Programme Meetings with PL and other stakeholders ORGANISATION Oversee the day-to-day management of EFL Youth Alliance Competition (league and cup), Under 16/17 League Programme and various youth development competitions including preparation of fixtures, re-arrangements, postponements and implementation of competition rules Ensure all participants and stakeholders understand the organisation of the competition Assist and attend end of season YD and YA presentations and YD EFL Events as required Production and dissemination of competition newsletters to include Youth Alliance, Under 16/17 league programme and Under 15/17Floodlit Cup competitions To attend Exit Trials and any other EFL YD Events as required DAY-TO-DAY ADMINISTRATION OF THE BELOW COMPETITIONS: Under 17 Floodlit Cup in conjunction with the Premier League Under 15 Floodlit Cup Under 13 and under 14 EFL National Competition LIAISE WITH THE PREMIER LEAGUE REGARDING EFL ENTRIES IN THE FOLLOWING: PL Under 21 Cup PL Under 18 Cup PL U16 Cup PL U12 Cup and any other PL Competitions EFL are invited to join About The Candidate WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR KNOWLEDGE & UNDERSTANDING Competent administrator – able to administrate several competitions effectively Ideally an understanding of the EFL, football competitions and how fixtures work Prior understanding of the competitions is not essential but may be advantageous Understands how to work independently and as part of a wider team TECHNICAL SKILLS Organised and detail oriented – able to organise lots of data and administer it to a high standard Strong Microsoft 365 skills including Excel Good communication and interpersonal skills Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously Able to manage time well and prioritise workloads ATTRIBUTES A quick learner who can maintain knowledge of tournament formats, organised fixtures and data Personable and professional approach Proactive and enthusiastic approach Strong relationship builder High level of self-motivation Able to manage sensitive information Lead by example by contributing to promoting the principles of the EFL: Everybody Working Together - We are one team supporting each other and collaborating on our shared goals Fairness & Equality - Being consistent and inclusive for everyone - showing respect Listening & Learning - Communicating with trust and honesty - growing as individuals and enabling others to do so too About The Club INTRODUCTION TO THE EFL The English Football League (EFL) is the highest attended football league, and largest single body of professional clubs in Europe.
