We are part of Suffolk Primary Care, which is a group of GP practices delivering patient care across Suffolk. We are seeking to recruit an experiencedAdvanced Clinical Practitioner, with independent prescriber qualifications to join our fantastic team at Howard House Surgery in Felixstowe.You must be a fully qualified ANP with acurrent NMC registration, or registered paramedic with HCPC and have anexcellent understanding of Clinical Governance.
The vacancy is for approximately 24 hours a week working over 3 days a week; including working 1 shift a week within our extended hours until 2000. Flexibility is crucial to accommodate training, holidays and occasional sickness.
Howard House Surgery supports in excess of 8500 patients from a diverse range of backgrounds. We have an established team with a strong focus on customer service and on developing staff in order to deliver excellent standards of patient care. We would love to hear from candidates with previous primary care experience.
We use SystmOne and askmyGP to facilitate effective and efficient ways of working.
A strong command of written and spoken English with an excellent telephone manner is a must. Good time management skills and the ability to follow protocols and or instruction and attention to detail is essential.

Main duties of the job
The Clinical Prescribing Practitionerwill be the first point of contact for patients with all types of healthproblems. They will make decisions andapply appropriate interventions to the presenting patient in their ownhome or in the surgery. This willinclude initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment andevaluation of care. They will workautonomously but within the Practices and NMC/HCPC policies, protocols andguidelines, demonstrating safe clinical decision-making, high levels ofcritical thinking and holistic practice.
The post-holder will be expected toact independently but will have access at all times to a GP for advice andsupport as necessary.
You will need excellent computer skills and need to be able to adapt to a variety of computer systems. We currently use AskMyGP as a triage system and SystemOne Understanding of these systems are preferred but not essential. Full training will be given.

Work withinprofessional boundaries to accurately examine and assess patients with anundifferentiated diagnosis, from a physiological, psychological and socialperspective, and plan clinical care accordingly.
Diagnose and manageboth acute and chronic conditions, integrating both drug and non-drug-basedtreatment methods into a management plan.
Seekadvice and support from a senior clinician as appropriate to inform decisionmaking around patient care.
Prioritise healthproblems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgentor emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care.
Review medicationfor therapeutic effectiveness appropriate to patient needs, and administermedication in accordance with PGD and Independent Prescribing.

* Recent clinical experience in related client group, i.e. acute/community setting
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse, or equivalent Independent prescriber, or Registered Paramedic with HCPC
* Resuscitation - minimum of Basic Life Support (BLS)
