Job description
* Reporting to the Mechanical & Piping Engineering Manager, responsible for mechanical and piping engineering and design within multi-discipline EPCM or EPC projects.
* Projects range from concept design to execution design across sectors like Oil & Gas, Energy, Utilities, Nuclear, Chemicals, and Food, handling both small and large projects.
* Ensure quality in engineering designs and project deliverables, including checking and approval processes.
* Maintain compliance with CDM regulations and other relevant standards.
* Complete mechanical and piping designs within scope, time, and budget, managing change control and interdisciplinary consistency.
* Participate in design reviews and ensure client acceptance of designs.
* Make independent technical decisions and provide expert support within the team.
Your profile
If you possess the following qualifications and experience, we look forward to hearing from you:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng or MEng preferred).
* At least 5 years of experience as Lead/Senior/Principal Engineer in multi-discipline projects.
* Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with IMechE or equivalent (preferred).
* Knowledge of engineering standards and specifications, including IGEM standards (preferred).
* Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
* Knowledge of civil, structural, EC&I, and process disciplines.
* Experience with mechanical specifications, design basis, calculations, drawings, 3D models, and risk assessments.
* Experience applying piping design codes such as ASME and BS EN standards.
* Familiarity with Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) and Pressure Equipment Safety Regulations (PESR).
* Result-oriented with a focus on client satisfaction and high-quality delivery.
* Effective planning, organization, and understanding of interdisciplinary dependencies.
* Proficiency with design packages like AutoCAD, Plant3D, E3D, Caesar II.
* Understanding of change control procedures.
* Ability to develop and present comprehensive design packages and lead design review meetings.
* UK security clearance eligibility (preferred).
