We are looking for a HCA to join our friendly, established team at a lovely practice in Stratford upon Avon. Candidates must have experience working in General Practice and hold an NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care.
Working under the direct supervision of the Nurse Partner and in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the healthcare assistant will assist the clinical team in delivering prescribed patient care programs.
Main duties of the job
Duties and responsibilities:
* ECG recording
* Chaperoning duties
* Processing and managing laboratory samples requested by GPs and nurses
* Sterilising, cleansing, and maintaining surgical equipment
* Vaccine and cold chain storage, monitoring, and recording
* Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
* Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
* Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during, and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during minor operations
* Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients' health and well-being
* Undertaking specific clinical activities for delegated patients, taught specifically for each individual
* Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and promoting it
* Assisting with data collection related to health and well-being needs
