Overview

As our Materials Management Officer / Driver, you will work as an integral part of the team ensuring that internal supply chain services are always maintained e.g., receipts, distribution and/or materials management using computerised receipts, storage and/or bar-coded data capture systems within the warehouse and the wider Trust amongst other duties. You will also deliver goods to various locations within the Trust portfolio. It will also be your responsibility to deliver goods to the public for example continence products and wound dressings. This may require you to go through the patient's threshold to assist in putting the goods away.

You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to work under non-direct supervision, prioritising your own workload. It is necessary to have a flexible approach within this role and be able to respond appropriately to the demands of an ever-changing workload. You will need excellent interpersonal skills, as you will be liaising with and helping Trust Staff throughout the working day. You will also be required to communicate with all levels of staff both face to face and over the telephone.

Responsibilities

* Provide customer liaison and helpdesk services, managing telephone enquiries, providing advice and resolving queries and problems.
* Expedite outstanding orders and inform users of any product delays, product changes or shortages, and actively source alternatives.
* Research and identify new or alternative products and sources of supply.


Requirements / Qualifications

* Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
* Delivery and materials management duties within a healthcare setting; ability to liaise with Trust staff and external providers.
* Flexibility to respond to changing workloads and to travel within the Trust portfolio as required.
