AKI is a contemporary and stylish Japanese restaurant and lounge bar, originating in the vibrant capital of Malta, Valletta. Known for its modern take on authentic Japanese cuisine, AKI offers a unique dining experience with a refined menu featuring sushi, robata grill dishes, and signature cocktails, all within an elegant and sophisticated ambiance. Building on its success and reputation in Malta, AKI is now expanding its reach and is set to open a new location in London, bringing its distinctive Japanese culinary experience to a new international audience. This marks an exciting step for AKI as it ventures outside of Malta for the first time. Following the successful establishment of AKI in Valletta, Malta, and with our exciting upcoming launch in London, we are now looking for a talented and innovative Reception Manager to join our team. The Job Oversee the daily operations of the reception area, ensuring a seamless and professional experience for all guests Manage and lead the reception team Handle guest reservations, including bookings, cancellations, and special requests, with accuracy and efficiency Greet and check in guests upon arrival, providing a warm and friendly welcome and addressing any initial questions or concerns Set daily and weekly cover targets for the reception team to strive towards Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth guest experiences and promptly resolve any issues or complaints Maintain a well-organized and presentable reception area, ensuring it meets the highest standards of cleanliness and professionalism Manage and update the reservation system, ensuring all information is current and correctly recorded Implement and uphold reception procedures and standards to ensure consistent and efficient guest service Address and resolve guest complaints or issues, escalating to senior management as necessary Collaborate with the Front of House team to manage service flow and optimize table turnover Support and develop reception staff, providing training and guidance to ensure adherence to company standards Stay informed about industry trends and best practices, integrating new ideas to enhance reception operations Commit to completion of online training within 2 weeks of start date Job Requirements Proven experience in a receptionist or front desk supervisory role, preferably in the hospitality industry Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Proficiency with reservation and property management systems (e.g., Opera, RoomMaster) Ability to handle guest complaints and resolve issues professionally and efficiently Strong organizational and multitasking skills Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus Attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of guest service Why Join Us?
