Overview
We are seeking to recruit a Substantive Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine to join our dynamic and friendly department, based at our Worthing Hospital site. The department is extremely forward-thinking and has established itself within the research arena, with multiple presentations at National and International meetings.
Responsibilities
* Clinical duties include being Consultant on the Intensive Care Unit one out of nine weeks, with participation in out-of-hours on-call rota.
* Active role in departmental teaching, research, governance, service development, and pursuing clinical interests.
* Attendance at ICU Clinical Governance meetings every two months (in conjunction with St Richard's ITU) and monthly Morbidity and Mortality Meetings.
* Contributions to multidisciplinary critical care via support from respiratory physiotherapy, dietetics, and daily consultant-led microbiology ward rounds.
* Participation in monthly MDT critical care follow-up clinic run by Outreach with direct consultant supervision.
* Non-ICU DCC work in complementary specialty, subject to job planning and service requirements.
