Our growing Structures South team is located in Southampton and Basingstoke. This role can be based in either of these locations to suit you. The offices are multidisciplinary, within walking distance of their respective train stations, and offer an excellent workplace environment.
Responsibilities
* Develop innovative and sustainable designs from concept for a wide range of challenging projects, including major hospital redevelopments, universities, and international projects with national and local architects.
* Take a key leadership role managing single and multi‑disciplinary design projects from concept stage through to detailed design, coordinating with architects, engineers, and specialist consultants.
* Contribute to continued success and help build toward delivery of a growing order book.
* Play an active role in business development, bringing existing client relationships or developing new ones, identifying and securing future project opportunities.
Reporting to a senior team member, you will work on major multi‑disciplinary development projects across the region and globally, spanning airports, commercial & mixed‑use, retail, education, and healthcare.
Experience
* A passion for business development is essential – whether you have a track record of work‑winning and client engagement or are eager to grow in this area.
* A proven track record of successful design delivery, particularly in concept design and project inception stages, preferably in a multi‑disciplinary environment.
* The ability to proactively manage requirements and risks, influencing others to deliver successfully.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with strong leadership potential and effective communication with project teams, stakeholders, and clients.
* Chartered Engineer status (MIStructE / AIStructE / MICE).
* Experience in team management responsibilities including line management and day‑to‑day operations.
