A well-established software business of around 200 staff is seeking an experienced IT & Security Manager to take ownership of internal IT operations and information security.
This is a hands-on leadership role within a business operating with outsourced IT support. You will act as the internal technical lead - triaging issues, overseeing service delivery, and ensuring systems, services and data remain secure, stable and well managed.
The role
You will act as the internal owner of IT across the business - responsible for day-to-day operational oversight, service performance, and the organisation’s security posture.
You will:
* Triage and coordinate internal IT issues before escalation to the MSP
* Hold external providers accountable for performance and standards
* Lead incident management and recovery planning
* Own security policies, risk management and ISO 27001 compliance
* Coordinate audits and respond to client security questionnaires
* Work with software development teams to manage security risks relating to the organisation’s SaaS platforms
* Promote security awareness and pragmatic risk management across the business
This is not a pure governance role. It requires someone who understands how systems actually work and is comfortable bridging operational IT and security.
* Strong hands-on IT infrastructure background
* Experience managing or overseeing outsourced IT services
* Solid working knowledge of cyber security principles and risk
* Experience working within ISO 27001 or similar frameworks
* Comfortable acting as the senior IT point of contact for the business
* Experience within software, professional services or regulated environments preferred
* Commercially aware and pragmatic
