Make your impact on practice, people and place

We’re investing in a strong, therapy‑led offer across Nottinghamshire—one that is strengths‑based, person‑centred and delivered with dignity and respect. As an Occupational Therapy Practice Consultant, you’ll champion professional standards, mentor and develop colleagues, and embed evidence‑based, outcomes‑focused practice so adults, and families and communities can live their best lives.

About The Role

* Provide expert consultation on complex casework, ensuring safe, ethical, evidence‑based OT practice aligned to legislation, local policy and HCPC registration.
* Lead reflective supervision (individual and group), promote professional wellbeing, and nurture a culture of continual learning.
* Oversee and quality‑assure key OT workforce programmes—particularly our Occupational Therapy Apprenticeship pathways—supporting recruitment, onboarding, placements, and successful progression.
* Design, deliver and evaluate training, peer learning and practice development activities; contribute to audits, care record reviews and wider quality improvement.
* Collaborate with leaders, partners and people with lived experience to co‑produce policies, frameworks and guidance that drive consistency, equity and high standards of care.

About You

* Up‑to‑date knowledge of OT legislation, policy and professional standards, with the confidence to translate research into day‑to‑day practice.
* Proven supervision, coaching or practice‑educator experience; skilled in reflective practice and performance support.
* Experience designing and delivering training and contributing to QA/assurance activity.
* Strong partnership skills—able to work across teams, agencies and the ICS to solve problems and improve outcomes.
* A values‑led, strengths‑based approach to enabling choice, control and independence.

What We Offer

* A supportive, multidisciplinary environment with regular supervision, ongoing CPD and peer learning.
* Opportunities to shape county‑wide OT development—apprenticeships, student placements and workforce pipelines—so our services stay resilient and future‑ready.
* The right tools for the job, including appropriate technology and flexible/hybrid working where service needs allow.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact maria.ballantyne@nottscc.gov.uk or samantha.stocker@nottscc.gov.uk
