Payroll Officer
Are you an experienced payroll professional looking to take the next step in your career? Our Newport-based accountancy firm is seeking a dedicated Payroll Officer to join our friendly and growing team.
Key Responsibilities
In the role as Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for managing a diverse payroll portfolio and ensuring accurate and timely payroll services for our clients.
Your duties will include:
* Managing payroll for a portfolio of clients across various sectors.
* Processing end-to-end payroll for weekly and monthly staff.
* Handling starters, leavers, and contractual changes.
* Calculating statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP, etc.
* Ensuring compliance with HMRC and pension auto-enrolment regulations.
* Acting as the first point of contact for client payroll queries.
* Supporting year-end processes including P60s, P11Ds, and HMRC submissions.
About You
We're looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering excellent service. The ideal candidate will have:
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in a payroll role.
* Strong knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, and pension auto-enrolment.
* Experience using payroll software such as BrightPay, Sage, Xero, or similar.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Ability to work to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
