Additional Needs Teaching Assistant
Location: Rossendale
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:50am – 3:45pm
Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Additional Needs Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Primary and Secondary SEN school in Rossendale.
The school caters for children and young people aged 4–19 with a wide range of special educational needs. These include physical disabilities, moderate learning difficulties (MLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism, and speech, language and communication needs – though the needs of pupils are not limited to these areas. The school is committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every pupil is supported to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting pupils with a range of complex needs in both classroom and 1:1 settings
* Assisting with personal care, including toileting, feeding, and mobility when required
* Promoting independence, communication, and engagement in learning
* Working alongside teaching staff, therapists and support teams to deliver tailored support
* Helping to create a calm, positive, and inclusive learning environment
The ideal candidate will:
* Have experience supporting children or young people with additional needs, ideally in an educational or care setting
* Be confident in providing personal care and physical support
* Be resilient, patient, and calm in challenging situations
* Work well as part of a team and have excellent communication skills
* Be committed to helping pupils overcome barriers and achieve their goals
