Job Requirements
* Qualifications:
o 4+ years of experience in the trucking or transportation industry preferred.
o 2+ years of hands-on experience installing GPS, ELDs, or similar tech preferred.
o High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications in electronics/vehicle systems preferred.
o Solid understanding of trailer mechanics and 12V DC electrical systems.
o Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
o Strong problem-solving skills with a commitment to quality workmanship.
o Effective communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset.
o Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
o Physically able to lift up to 20 lbs regularly and work in varied outdoor environments.
o Must own a reliable service truck or van equipped to carry tools and a ladder.
o Completion of PCT’s Telematics Installation & Technical Service Certification Program (post-hire requirement).
Job Responsibilities
* Key Responsibilities:
o Install telematics hardware and sensors on diverse trailer makes/models, ensuring clean wiring and secure connections.
o Utilize tools and platforms such as PCT Tech Assist, Connect 1, and Bluetooth apps to verify installations.
o Diagnose and repair system malfunctions and ensure functionality of installed tech aligns with operational standards.
o Perform routine maintenance and upgrades to existing trailer systems.
o Maintain accurate records of all installations, service work, and inventory usage.
o Collaborate with technical teams and support staff remotely to resolve issues efficiently.
o Use diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters) to interpret system performance and data integrity.
o Stay current with industry developments and advancements in telematics technologies.
o Adhere to all company and site-specific safety standards and protocols.
o Travel daily to client sites within the local region (100% local travel required).
