Part-time General Farm Worker required on a new, innovative and expanding calf rearing unit.
Part-time role with variable working days to support the core team during busy periods (such as calf arrivals, shed moves, weighing and vaccinating).
As a result, working days will vary week to week but will be planned in advance.
The unit has high welfare standards and modern equipment.
Key responsibilities to include:
* All aspects of calf rearing, welfare and biosecurity
* Daily routines including mucking out and bedding up
* Safe handling of livestock, weighing cattle and other general husbandry tasks
* Detecting and treating illness or issues under the defined protocol
* Maintaining accurate records
Requirements:
· Confident handling livestock or willing to learn
· Reliable and punctual
· Own transport essential due to rural location
Experience is desirable and flexibility is essential.
Hours will initially vary depending on workload. Potential for increased hours as the unit expands.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £8.00-£13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 40 per week
