The Clinical Research Fellow will conduct high-quality research using spatial biology techniques to investigate kidney disease mechanisms. This will include integration of multi-omics and clinical data and will involve close collaboration with colleagues across CG-TIC and at GSK.
The position is based in the Department of Medicine, working with researchers based primarily in the Cambridge Institute of Therapeutic Immunology & Infectious Disease (CITIID) who are part of the CG-TIC. The chosen candidate will work in a dynamic, supportive team under the mentorship of Prof. Menna Clatworthy, Professor of Translational Immunology (). Prof. Clatworthy is a world leader in renal immunology, tissue immunity and spatial biology. You would also work closely with Dr James McCaffrey, an academic histopathologist in the Clatworthy group with extensive expertise in spatial biology.
Applicants should have a medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with an interest in renal medicine. Experience of working with industry partners and collaborative working will be extremely valuable but is not essential. Similarly, prior experience with spatial biology, omics or bioinformatics would be advantageous.
The role comes with the opportunity to undertake a fully funded PhD, based within the Department of Medicine, and with access to high quality training and mentorship.
