At Nuclear Transport Solutions (NTS), we’re looking for a dynamic and strategic Senior Buyer to join our Rail Supply Chain team and help shape the future of sustainable, secure transport. Why this role matters:As a Senior Buyer, you’ll be at the heart of our procurement operations—developing sourcing strategies, leading high-impact tenders, and ensuring compliance with the Procurement Act 2023. You’ll act as a trusted deputy to the Procurement Manager and play a key role in delivering value, reducing risk, and supporting our mission to deliver safe and secure transport solutions. What you’ll be doing:Lead the development of sourcing strategies for the Rail Supply Chain category.Manage multiple tenders and procurement projects in a highly regulated environment.Engage with the market and internal stakeholders to gather insights and drive innovation.Support contract management and ensure robust governance and compliance.Represent NTS at forums and contribute to strategic procurement decisions.Provide leadership and mentorship to a small team and deputise for the Procurement Manager as needed. What we’re looking for:CIPS Level 5 (or willingness to achieve within 12 months).Experience in Operational, MRO or Engineering procurement.Strong understanding of Public Contracts Regulations and contract law.Proven ability to manage complex projects and supplier relationships.A collaborative mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
