CDAE Design Engineer – HVDC Substations
Outside IR35 | 18-month contract
We’re supporting a UK-based client delivering major HVDC substation projects and are looking for an experienced CDAE-certified Design Engineer to join on a long-term contract.
This is a high-profile role offering flexibility, autonomy, and involvement in complex power transmission projects.
The Role
* Act as a CDAE-approved Design Engineer supporting HVDC substation projects
* Provide technical input, review, and assurance across design activities
* Collaborate with project stakeholders and the wider engineering team
* Attend occasional client and project meetings as required
Essential Skills & Experience
* CDAE-certified
* Strong HVDC and substation experience
* Proven experience in power transmission / utilities projects
* Comfortable operating in a senior technical capacity
Contract Details
* Start: ASAP
* Duration: 18 months
* IR35: Outside
* Rate: Negotiable DOE
* Location: Largely remote, with occasional client/office attendance
